John VickersPrincipal Technologist, NASA STMDJohn Vickers concurrently serves as a principal technologist for the Space Technology Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters, and in the senior leader position for advanced and in-space manufacturing at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center. Mr. Vickers is also the manager of the NASA National Center for Advanced Manufacturing. He has over 35 years of experience in materials and manufacturing related research and engineering for propulsion, spacecraft and scientific systems.
As principal technologist and senior leader, Mr. Vickers leads the nationwide NASA team for strategic technology planning and stewardship of crucial cross-cutting capabilities needed to accomplish the NASA goals of space exploration missions and to expand growth for the commercial space industry. He also represents the agency serving as a member of the National Science and Technology Council’s (NSTC) Subcommittee on Advanced Manufacturing and the Subcommittee on Critical and Strategic Mineral Supply Chains. |
