Lisa MayChief Technologist, Lockheed MartinLisa May is Chief Technologist for Lockheed Martin’s Commercial and Civil Space Advanced Programs. She leads technology investment development and advises on technology strategy and partnerships. Lisa previously served as Deputy Space Exploration Architect, supporting Lockheed Martin’s technical response to NASA’s call to return humans to the Moon by 2024. Before joining Lockheed Martin, Lisa was CEO of Murphian Consulting, providing systems engineering and management consulting to technology entrepreneurs in such diverse fields as nuclear, forensics, space, and transportation technology. From 2002 to 2015, Lisa was at NASA Headquarters, where she managed NASA’s Mars Exploration Program. Her portfolio included Mars Sample Return, MAVEN, and Mars Technology, and she chaired the International Mars Exploration Working Group. Prior to NASA Headquarters, Lisa worked at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, founded Jackson-May Associates, and was Director of Business Development at Aurora Flight Sciences. Lisa holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering and a bachelor’s degree in speech communication. Lisa is an AIAA Associate Fellow, an IEEE Senior Member, and an INCOSE Expert Systems Engineering Professional.
